The firm’s principal, Lawrence (Larry) Clark, previously served as Director of Corporate Business Development at Hill York – at that time, Florida’s largest independently-owned mechanical contractor – and was actively engaged with its Hygreen Energy Solutions group from launch in early 2008 until he formed SPS in September 2010. Clark’s previous experience includes such diverse assignments as president, vice president, and regional manager at MEPCO (formerly the Dunham Division of Dunham-Bush); and regional manager at Vapor Power, when it was part of Westinghouse Air Brake. He is a graduate engineer (B.S.E.E.), a certified Green Globes Professional, a LEED® AP with O+M specialty credential, a Certified Commercial Energy Auditor; a Florida Water Star Inspector; and a Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCxP).

Clark is the author of more than two dozen HVAC and energy related articles, is a frequent presenter and lecturer on a variety of green building topics, and is on the faculty of Lorman Education Services. He also writes the semi-monthly “Clark’s Remarks” sustainability column for HPAC Engineering and is a member of various professional organizations including ASHRAE and IEEE (Sr. Member).  He previously served in a number of volunteer positions on the USGBC, including 2011-2012 chair of Broward Green Schools Committee, 2014-2015 Chapter Advocacy chair, 2015-2018 Board member and Broward Chapter vice-chair.  In addition, he serves on HPAC Engineering’s Editorial Advisory Board and previously served on the Smart Growth Partnership Board of Directors.  Clark has also served on the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) Education Review Team, served six years on the City of Pompano Beach Recycling & Solid Waste Advisory Committee, six years on the City of Fort Lauderdale Sustainability Advisory Board (Vice-Chair 2018-2020), and six years on the Broward County Consumer Protection Board.  Most recently, Clark was a member of the ANSI Consensus Body and chaired the Energy Subcommittee in the development of Standard BSR/GBI 02-202X, Green Globes Assessment Protocol for Existing Buildings.

Other key team members include Beau Gallo, Alejandra Morales, Ross Lande, and Elizabeth Whittington:

Beau Chant Gallo, PE, LEED GA, is a mechanical engineer with more than 15 years of construction experience.  He has served in owner’s rep, project manager, construction administrator, mechanical and plumbing design, and commission roles.  Recent projects include four high-rise buildings in Miami, and the Miami Worldcenter, a 10-block mixed-use development that is one of the largest private master-planned projects in the U.S. Beau holds a BSME.

Alejandra Morales, LEED GA, is a sustainability and facilities management professional who, most recently, served as Facilities Supervisor responsible for sustainability operations at one of Florida’s largest furniture retailers. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a BA Sustainability and the Environment.
